Playing with paper
Collage is my go-to creative reboot. I just love playing with the textures, colors and text I find in magazines, old maps, bits of Japanese papers. I had such a joyful time making this, referencing a photo I took on a long run on Notre Dame’s campus the day I helped Jack move in.
Each time I’m at Notre Dame, I look for print materials to use in collage. Sorin’s statue has some pamphlets from Madeleine’s graduation weekend, as well as a bit of a South Bend map. I took a bunch more pics during that run that I’m prepping for the same collage treatment, but I might create Gelliprint papers (so fun—a printmaking process that uses what I can best describe as a gigantic Jello rectangle as a printing plate) for those instead of pre-printed materials…or maybe a bit of both? Who knows? I’m certain the process is going to be a blast.
