When Madeleine, Jack, Clare and I went to St. Lucia this past summer, we were upgraded graciously to the most beautiful villa I’ve ever experienced. It’s built into a hill, with just a couple rooms on each level, joined together by a whitewashed stone and wood beam narrow staircase. I chose this beautiful room next to the kitchen (morning coffee must be CLOSE), which had a little Juliet balcony overlooking the Caribbean. Oh, did I ever feel like Princess Buttercup!

My students and I are starting interior paintings soon, inspired by Pierre Bonnard, Matisse, Carl Larsson, and Carol Rabe, so what better way to warm up my interior painting creativity than with this memorable view.

The original (8” x 8”, $195) is available through me, or prints can be found here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/st-lucia-interior-anne-lewis.html

Now if I can just get Princess Bride quotes out of my head!
