The grand-dog

Well, it didn’t take too long. Since we were so blessed for more than a dozen years with Seamus, a sort of madness took over. Call it a sweet obsession with all things corgi, particularly the fluffy variety. Madeleine felt the corgi void acutely, and so drove more than 1700 miles round trip from St. Louis to rural southwestern Virginia (in a weekend!) to adopt Finnigan. He is from the same breeder as Seamus, and somehow distantly related. And a little laugh, because we can all use those as often as possible now…Finnigan’s parents have names straight out of the porn industry: Dad is “Knight to Remember” and mom is “Blueberry Yum Yum”. I can’t make that up ;).

Finnigan captured our hearts quickly with his outsize corgi personality. He’ll follow in Seamus’s footsteps to become a therapy dog, and no doubt will add a great deal to Madeleine’s future OT practice. For now, Finnigan travels in a custom backpack when his little nubbin legs can’t keep up with his on-the-go hu-mom (Madeleine, not Yum Yum).

Here he is, about 16 weeks old, gracing my parents’ screened porch. The original was under the Christmas tree addressed to Madeleine and Finn, but prints can be found here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/finnigan-anne-lewis.html?newartwork=true

Next up, a switch for a bit back to collage. I’ve been making gelli-prints like crazy and have Notre Dame on the brain, so you can imagine where that’s going. Chalk it up to such a tremendously fun football season we’ll never forget.
