recent inspiration
It’s been so long since I’ve posted. Chalk it up to a whiplash sorta school year, Clare’s last semester in high school, and—a good thing—commissions that kept rolling in throughout. I had three back to back, one of which I’ll feature next. I had about a minute to paint something else during that time…so went with some fantastic color on a favorite subject. This (of course) is Notre Dame Avenue, but looking away from the Dome. Nothing beats Notre Dame in the fall. I’ve had it on my mind a lot lately, what with Clare heading there in August. I also hosted a lovely current undergrad who flew in to D.C. to shadow me and learn more about art therapy. To top off all that, I’ll be heading to what should be a crazy fun game this fall, Notre Dame vs. Clemson. Lots of blue and gold on the brain! Since so many of my commissions are Notre Dame-related, I thought I’d dive into that and create a bunch of paintings of scenes from around campus. Alternating with those fabulous birds, of course. The original of this one (11x14, $425) is available through me, or prints can be found here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/looking-down-notre-dame-avenue-anne-lewis.html
