Early this semester one of our school resource officers asked if I might “do a little project” for him, and proceeded to laugh infectiously. If you heard Marco’s laugh, you’d be hard pressed not to join in.
Marco had found an old print of the famous George Washington portrait. Marco shares the same last name as our first president, and wondered if I could “make just a few changes”. How could I say no to such a subversive re-do? Here’s the pic I took of Marco before beginning George’s makeover, and the side by side before and after. We had such fun with this, and clearly the students did, too, as several of them wanted photos of Marco next to his portrait.
And yes, he’s no longer “Mr. Washington” when I see him in the halls. He’s “General” :).
