The older I get the more I understand and appreciate my parents. They are salt of the earth Midwestern people, to put it simply. I’ve learned so much from them, “Pearls of Wisdom” as Dad would say, including these:
Budget Like Crazy.
Family Vacations Mean Everything. (So Budget Like Crazy already.)
I thought of my parents so often while I waded out to these hammocks (chick lit in one hand, margarita in the other) at the Windjammer Landing Resort in St. Lucia http://windjammer-landing.com/ this past July. And of my other favorite philosopher, David Lee Roth, whose beautiful words, “I’ve got a drink in my hand and my toes in the sand…” echoed through my completely relaxed, sunkissed self every moment in this paradise.
I love how this painting flowed like the all-inclusive smoothies my kids inhaled. Or like the schools of fish we saw snorkeling twice a day. Choose your paradise reference…The original is available (12″x 12″, $350) or prints can be found here: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/st-lucia-beach-anne-lewis.html Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
