This morning was one of those I could have stayed under the covers SO much longer. I wake early to run, but this morning that cool crisp autumn air and the pitch dark just begged, “Roll over and snore some more!” But I remembered this sunflower at the end of a late summer 5 miler and dragged myself out of bed. It seems I always find something inspiring when I’m out running, even if it’s just the coffee waiting back home. This flower was something else, though–part of a wildflower garden a thoughtful neighbor planted along his sidewalk.
I painted it on one of those perfect early fall days, with the breeze blowing through my studio, and my corgi at my feet, “supervising”.
