Well, here he is. This supremely cool and confident little vermilion flycatcher. Clearly his Christmas cards didn’t arrive too dark, his principal isn’t asking for an uploaded PBL lesson ASAP, and no one’s asking him to put up the lights already, because Thanksgiving was LAST WEEK. I just finished raking the leaves, people.
I’m going to have this look again, estimated arrival noon, December 25. In the meantime, it truly is a treat to see my neighborhood transform into a holiday wonderland, to receive party invites, participate in a Secret Santa exchange with my awesome colleagues, and read this on Clare’s wish list: “#22: A horse. Because I’ll never stop trying.” :)
Creating these little collages is such a joy. This time I focused on soft Japanese paper, but the next is culled B&W magazine ads. SO fun. If you need a dose of unruffled feathers, too, this little guy (6″x6″, $95) is available through me, or prints can be found here https://fineartamerica.com/featured/vermilion-flycatcher-anne-lewis.html.
