One of the best parts of motherhood is watching my kids grow up. All 3 are terrific people: compassionate, independent, and grateful, among many other fine qualities. But the joy I didn’t really anticipate when Mattie, Jack, and Clare were tiny little babies was this fascinating finding out of *who* they are as the years have gone by. What things would they love, and enjoy doing?
Little did I know the future included so much Harry Potter expertise, a house full of music–from cello sonatas to Chiddy Bang–granola baking, a budding horse whisperer, wonderfully lowbrow humor, voracious reading, a Disney trivia expert, an entire area of our basement devoted to art projects, a fascination with lighting things on fire (bottle rockets in the garage, anyone?), a unanimous household love of Parks and Rec, and…one unparalleled sports junkie who loves playing hockey. Here he is, with his Yorktown HS JV teammates after a goal this past season. The original (10×10″) is on Jack’s bedroom wall right next to his Bryce Harper autograph, but prints can be found here: https://fineartamerica.com/featured/goal-anne-lewis.html?newartwork=true
Enjoy your own family so much this summer!
