My parents have always been terrifically supportive people to me and my brother. They’re also deeply curious people, and have a knack for starting great conversations. A few years ago, my mom asked Bro and I if we could do it all over again career-wise, what might we do? While we both love our jobs now, within a nano-second or two we both blurted out, “park ranger” and “farmer”. We’ve both found a way to be in nature as much as possible anyway, in our gardens, as Cub Scout leaders, trail runners, state naturalists, bird nerds. I think it’s why these little guys are so fun and quick to paint; I just love ’em.
Here’s my brother and sister-in-law’s Tufted Titmouse, available as a print here: http://fineartamerica.com/featured/tufted-titmouse-anne-lewis.html
And thanks, Mom and Dad, for just laughing and pouring a little more wine when you realized all that generous college tuition might not have been necessary!
