Some paintings just flow right out of the brush, fast and easy. It seems to happen when the subject is something I really love, or the composition and color contrast is so catching in the photo I took that I can’t wait to paint it back home. I took the photo of this pumpkin display at a local favorite place, Stribling Orchard in Markham, VA (http://www.striblingorchard.com/) My kids and I go every year, to meet our cousins, pick apples, and gorge ourselves on candy apples and cider doughnuts. It’s a wonderful rite of fall just before I beg for all my kids’ dark chocolate haul on Halloween.
